About
Michael Williams is a New York–based photographer and director creating cinematic, human-centered imagery for advertising and editorial clients worldwide.
Over a career spanning four decades, Michael developed his visual language in fashion—an environment that sharpened his instincts for casting, composition, movement and the subtle details that make an image feel both elevated and emotionally real. Today, he brings that experience to campaigns across technology, healthcare, hospitality, finance, travel and luxury.
Whether photographing people in intimate everyday moments or producing ambitious location-based campaigns, Michael approaches every assignment as a storyteller. His work combines refined visual craft with warmth, authenticity and a deep understanding of how to direct people naturally in front of the camera.
Based in New York and available worldwide, Michael works with trusted production partners to provide full-service support from concept development and casting through production, motion and post-production.
Michael’s work has been published extensively across nearly every major Condé Nast and Hearst title, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Esquire, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and many of their international editions. His photography has also appeared in Interview, Vibe, Essence and New York Magazine. Selected advertising clients include HP, Cisco, Bose, Canon, NBC, Rogers Media, L’Oréal, Revlon, Dove, AXE, Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s, Hershey’s, Walmart and WW, along with numerous other leading international brands. His work has also been featured in books and gallery exhibitions, including a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp.
